Chinese export porcelain.

Armorial dish with Portuguese (diameter: 31,4cm)
Qianlong period, circa 1760.


Painted with a polychrome decoration of a flower garland on the border and the arms of Antonio de SOUSA FALCÃO de SALDANHA COUTINHO in the centre. He was part of the Royal House nobility and was appointed governor of the island of Santa Catarina, but he died en route. This service ordered before his departure was never used.


Provenance: Private collection, France.
Condition: a crack on the border, consolidated and now completely invisible.
