The Galerie Antoine Lebel has specialized for over fifteen years in Chinese export porcelain. Established at first in the “Carré Rive Gauche" in Paris for nine years, it has now moved to the exclusive Ixelles/Uccle area of Brussels, Belgium.

Antoine Lebel, who holds a doctorate in Art History from Oxford University, founded the gallery in 1992. He focused quickly on Chinese export porcelain. The exchange of ideas, of stylistic concepts and of cultural elements between the Far East and the West in the making and decoration of porcelain are the reasons behind his choice; a study of two cultures discovering each other with some degree of misunderstanding.

The Galerie Antoine Lebel specializes in decorative pieces such as Famille Verte and Famille Rose dinner services, vases, soup tureens etc. which were decorated with Chinese symbolic elements and stylistic criteria to satisfy the European craving for 'the Chinoiserie' . The gallery, however, has a greater speciality in pieces with privately ordered decorations, in particular those with European figures in fashion then or with family arms.
