Chinese export porcelain.

Punch bowl (diameter : 28,5cm).
Qianlong period,
circa 1765.


    A fox hunting scene is represented continuously around the bowl in Famille rose polychrome enamels. Inside, a hunter galops on a horse. The foot rim is decorated with a sperhead frieze.
      The scene is taken from engravings by P.C. Canot which were later sed by James Seymour.


Provenance: Private collection, Belgium.
Condition: Enamels very fresh and vivid; on the border a consolidated small crack, now invisible.
