Chinese export porcelain.

Octagonal soup tureen and stand (width of the tureen: 30,7cm; width of the stand: 37cm).

Qianlong Period, circa 1760.

The tureen, cover and stand are shaped like silver pieces of the period in Europe. The knop of the cover, shaped as a closed flower bud, is painted in a coral colour enhanced in gilt, as well as the handles shaped as rabitts' heads on either side of the main body. Along the borders a frize with geometrical designs frames flower bouquets and just flowers.

The whole decoration is done in an emerald green colour which is very unsual on Chinese export pieces. Apparently a whole dinner service must have been ordered in this colour.

Provenance: Art market, Sweden.
Condition: Perfect, except for a small crack on the border of the stand (now invisible) and a few minute chips on the knop cover.
Price: On request at the gallery.
