Very rare pair of bowls and covers (diameter of bowls : 11,5cm).
Yongzheng period, circa 1730.
Polychrome and gilt decoration of geometrical designs rendered in honey comb motifs on the border of each bowl and covers together with flowers volutes. On either side of each bowl, there is a galant scene between two European figures: he holds a basket filled with flowers on his knees, and she, showing advantageously her breasts, holds with one hand the stem of a gilt flower.
Provenance: Private collection, Belgium.
Condition: One cover broken and restored, one cover with a chip filled in, a small piece broken and glued on the border of one bowl. The other bowl perfect.
